End User License Agreement

Short version: You get a personal license to use Quill as a student. Do not copy it, scrape it, resell it, reverse engineer it, or cheat the credit meter. Your drafts and profile are yours; the app and its data are ours.

1. License grant

Subject to these terms and the Terms of Service, Quill, Inc. grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Quill web application for your own personal, non-commercial use as a student seeking research opportunities.

2. Restrictions

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or lease any part of the Service;
reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code, models, prompts, or datasets, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
scrape, crawl, or bulk-export the Service's researcher or university data, or use it to build a competing product or dataset;
circumvent, disable, or interfere with usage limits, credit metering, rate limits, or any security feature;
access the Service by automated means other than the interfaces we provide;
resell or share account access, or use one account on behalf of multiple people;
use the Service to develop or train competing AI systems.

3. Ownership

The Service, including software, design, curated lab and university data, and all associated intellectual property, is and remains the property of Quill, Inc. and its licensors. No rights are granted except as expressly stated here. You own your content: the profile information you enter and the email drafts you create and send are yours.

4. Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.

5. Third-party services

The Service interoperates with third-party services, including Anthropic (AI generation), Stripe (payments), Resend (verification email), Supabase (data infrastructure), and Google (sign-in and Gmail deep links). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and Quill is not responsible for them.

6. Updates

We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. This EULA applies to all updates unless an update comes with separate terms.

7. Termination

This license ends automatically if you breach it, when your account is terminated, or when Quill discontinues the Service. On termination you must stop using the Service. Sections 3, 4, and 8 survive.

8. Warranty and liability

The disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and indemnification provisions of the Terms of Service apply to this EULA in full and are incorporated by reference.
